A top AEW star's contract is set to expire soon this year. The star in question is Penta El Zero Miedo.

Penta has been in the Jacksonville-based promotion since 2019. In a recent interview with YouTuber Lalo Elizarraras on Comiendo Carnitas, he confirmed that his contract with the company will expire around August/September of this year.

After the news went viral online, wrestling fans reacted to it on X/Twitter. Some fans want to see the 39-year-old star join WWE if he departs from Tony Khan's company.

A user said, "Would love to see him in WWE."
"Penta in NXT. That NXT title would look GOOD on him," another fan tweeted.

Others believe that Pentagón Jr. will have an underwhelming run in WWE if he joins the promotion after leaving AEW.

This person wrote, "Stay put. WWE sucks at booking masked luchadores not named Rey Mysterio."
"Penta in WWE would be so awful. Plus i can't imagine him & Fenix being in apart given there almost like a package deal," said this user.

AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo pulled from a recent major show

Pentagón Jr. was scheduled to make an appearance on a show presented by Lucha Libre Acapulco on June 29, 2024. But he was pulled from the event. Lucha Libre Acapulco shared an official statement on their official Facebook page informing the fans about the cancellation.

It was informed that his attendance was canceled because he was required to be present at AEW for television tapings.

"We want to inform you that, unfortunately, the fighter Penta Zero Miedo will not be able to appear as originally announced.... The reason for this cancelation is because Penta Zero Miedo has received a call from the company All Elite Wrestling, with whom he has a current contract. AEW has required his presence for one of its events recorded for TV, which has made it impossible for him to participate in our event."

It was also clarified that the Mexican promotion had no responsibility for the cancellation. Plus all the commitments and payments were fulfilled by the company in advance.
