The Elite saw a challenge being laid down on AEW Dynamite as Forbidden Door III drew near. It came from a wrestling legend, and the crowd went wild.
The legend in question is none other than Hiroshi Tanahashi. The Elite and the Acclaimed have been at each other's throats for a few weeks now, and things were coming to a standstill soon. The Acclaimed showed up on Dynamite and started complaining about the Young Bucks.
The Elite came out and challenged them to a trios match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Billy Gunn then took the mic and said that he knew someone who would team up with The Acclaimed for the trios match, and that is when a montage from Tanahashi played on the big screen.

He then warned the Bucks, and specifically Kazuchika Okada, that he was coming for them. The latter and Tanahashi have a long and storied history from their time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. It will be great to see the legendary wrestler from Japan come back to AEW for a match at Forbidden Door.
As for The Elite, they should not take the challenge of Tanahashi lightly.
