Legendary wrestler Sabu recently recalled Chris Jericho inviting him to AEW in 2023.
Sabu made his All Elite Wrestling debut on the Dynamite before the Double or Nothing 2023 PPV. The legend came to the aid of Adam Cole against The Jericho Appreciation Society, who had the numbers advantage against the former NXT Champions. Sabu would later become the special guest enforcer for Adam Cole vs. Chris Jericho at the 2023 DON PPV.
Speaking in an interview with WrestlingNews.co, the ECW legend opened up about his conversations with Chris Jericho about making appearances for All Elite Wrestling.
“Chris Jericho, he called me out and said ‘Hey, what are you doing Wednesday?’ I said ‘Nothing,’ and he goes ‘We got a spot for you. Boom, boom, boom. Can you make it Sunday?’ I said ‘Yes I can'. So then I called him back and said ‘Oh, I f***ed up. I’m booked on Sunday.’ He goes, ‘Can you do both or cancel?’ I said ‘Yeah,’ and so I did bot, but yeah, he called me. It was just a spur of the moment [thing]. They were in Vegas and they needed a surprise or something.” [H/T: WrestleZone]

AEW star Chris Jericho recently addressed his FTW Championship win
Former WWE Champion Chris Jericho defeated HOOK to win the FTW Championship at last Sunday's Dynasty event. The match was taken over by the crowd, with some aggressive comments being made towards Jericho. The fans chanted for Jericho to retire from wrestling. However, it seems like the veteran will turn the hate into his new 'Learning Tree' gimmick.
After winning the FTW Title, Chris Jericho took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the following message.
“Thanks to all of you who believed in me and cheered me on tonight in #StLouis and at home, as I WON the #FTWTitle from @730hook at #AEWDynasty tonight! Your love and encouragement took me to new heights and helped me to beat #Hook, who was at his best tonight!! #TheLearningTree promises to give Hook and all of the @aew talent who are in the #JerichoVortex only the best lessons…both in the ring and in life. See you on #AEWDynamite this Wednesday…new champ is out!”
Jericho has revealed that he currently has no plan to retire from professional wrestling. It will be interesting to see if the former AEW World Champion decides to return to the WWE in the future.
