A wrestling veteran has tipped WWE NXT to surpass AEW Dynamite very soon. This might come as a shock to many, but the numbers don't seem to lie.
The name in question is none other than Konnan. The veteran is known to have some strong opinions when it comes to wrestling. He and his broadcast partner, Disco Inferno, were talking about the dip in AEW ticket sales when he made this claim.
Speaking on his K100 podcast, the former WWE star said that if the worrying trend does not stop soon, then he fully expects NXT to overtake Dynamite in ratings. He said:
“Ok listen to this. NXT was 677. They have been doing good numbers anyways. Soon, NXT is gonna pass them because it's a better show.” [1:37 - 1:51]
Former WWE star Konnan accuses Tony Khan of inflating numbers
Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about AEW’s media rights deal with WBD. However, despite the reports, not much is known about the deal so far.
Tony Khan has said that this deal would make AEW the second most profitable wrestling company of all time. However, former WWE star Konnan has now accused Tony Khan of inflating the numbers and said that TK could be adding some of his own money to make the deal look good.
He made this claim on a recent episode of his K100 podcast. He said:
"They got a little bit more, right? I'm sure that's not what they were looking for and on top of that, I still stand by my statement and I could be absolutely wrong and this is not being a hater. I wouldn't doubt if they gave him 120 million, Khan didn't put in some of his own money so he wouldn't look bad."
We don't know if this claim could turn out to be true. However, it is surely something that the fans might want to pay attention to.
