WWE and AEW to come together for a blockbuster deal that could involve Shane McMahon, says a former manager

A former manager believes that WWE and AEW could come together for a blockbuster deal. This deal could involve Shane McMahon according to him.

Dutch Mantell is the latest to give his thoughts on the Shane McMahon and AEW situation. Shane has been associated with WWE for a very long time. While he doesn't have an executive position in the company like Triple H, Shane has been an onscreen presence.

Given that he is a McMahon, it was shocking when rumors broke out that Shane expressed interest in joining AEW. Although Tony Khan has stated that he never spoke to Shane, many people started speculating on the possibility of him going to the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Speaking on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former manager said that Shane could appear on AEW if they work out a deal with the WWE:

"I think Shane [McMahon] and Tony [Khan] could work something like that but I would hate to see the form of it after they got it because they could probably run by the story too quickly.....but if they did that right, I could see that happening. I don't see Shane going in there trying to be a manager. I don't see Shane going in there and now I think the only way that he would go is if WWE and AEW work some kind of agreement to where they could swap just a little bit of talent....not a lot....just a little bit." Tony Khan said that Shane McMahon is welcome at AEW

The thought of a McMahon appearing on AEW television seemed unfathomable. However, recent developments indicate otherwise. Even Tony seems interested.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan stated that Shane McMahon is always welcome in AEW:

“I heard the rumor he might be interested. I’ve never met Shane, but we have a lot of mutual friends. I have a lot of respect for him as an executive and a professional wrestler. Shane is always welcome in AEW.” [H/T eWrestlingnews]
