With Penta El Zero Miedo reportedly leaving AEW and Ricky Starks being pulled from his GCW appearances, the Jacksonville-based promotion is under heavy criticism lately. Dustin Rhodes has now reacted to the situation.
Ever since the inception of All Elite Wrestling, many notable names, including Eric Bischoff and Kevin Nash, have criticized the promotion for various reasons. Meanwhile, fans online often compare the Tony Khan-led organization to WWE.
Amid the criticisms Khan and his company are facing, wrestling legend Dustin Rhodes, who has been part of both AEW and WWE, shared an emotional message to fans. The Natural urged them to stop spreading hatred and emphasized that, while he supported All Elite Wrestling, he also loved all forms of pro wrestling.
"Here's a thought.......Just enjoy Wrestling. Please stop the constant attacking and vitriol towards us. We have the most passionate wrestlers in the world. We do this for you. #IAmWithAEW @AEW and I love and watch ALL wrestling," Rhodes wrote.
Dustin Rhodes addresses speculation of major change amid uncertain AEW future
Dustin Rhodes' contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion reportedly expired in September or October this year. But he's still part of the promotion. According to recent reports, he's negotiating a new deal with Tony Khan. However, there has been no significant update regarding his status.
A few days ago, a user on X/Twitter claimed that The Natural might be leaving the Jacksonville-based promotion and joining WWE since he had removed mentions of All Elite Wrestling and ROH from his bio. Reacting to the post, the former Goldust clarified that he never included the names of the organizations in his X/Twitter bio.
"Never had that in my bio! That's why u are blocked," the veteran wrote.
The former WWE star is a double champion, holding both the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Sammy Guevara and the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title with Marshall and Ross Von Erich (The Von Erichs).
