A WWE Hall of Famer has spoken out about how Tony Khan is booking AEW matches. Khan was just handed a devastating defeat in the Tuesday night ratings war by WWE's NXT.

Earlier today, Vince Russo criticized how the stories unfold on AEW. The architect of Crash TV has publicly requested Khan to give him booking rights for some months.

While that hasn't happened, Eric Bischoff has spoken out about what he thinks of Khan's booking capabilities. To put it lightly, Bischoff lambasted the storylines in AEW on the podcast Strictly Business:

The stories are weak. People who are the most ardent supporters of AEW, including those in the company. What they refer to as a story is not a story. It’s an excuse for a match. The stories don’t have the arc, the drama, the vulnerability at the right point in time, the self doubt, the right point in time, they don’t have the ingredients that actually make a story there."

It didn't end there. He continued:

"What’s referred to as a story to justify a match and what beats there are in an arc are they’re not compelling. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl. boy gets girl back that’s a story nobody’s gonna give a sh*t about it unless you make it a great love story. And you know, I’ve just I’m almost tired of pointing it out because people only want to hear what they want to hear and formatting the show, you know, look, they started. They started off with a hot start, when was the last time we saw Bryan Danielson in action?" he said. (h/t itrwrestling.com)

Looks like Tony Khan is fast becoming one of the most disliked characters in wrestling.

WWE's NXT beat Tony Khan's AEW in the Tuesday Night Ratings war

The one-off Tuesday Night Ratings war between WWE's NXT and AEW: Dynamite, caused by the latter preponing its program to a Tuesday, had a clear winner - NXT beat AEW with formidable numbers.

As Bully Ray pointed out, WWE did fill its roster and match-card to the brim with rare appearances from the best of the best, John Cena, Paul Heyman, and The Undertaker, but that only means that they did take the challenge seriously, and had the resources to hit this out of the park. For now, the ball is in AEW's court.
