A WWE Hall of Famer recently commented on the possibility of managing MJF in AEW. The name in question is none other than JBL.
John Bradshaw Layfield has appeared in multiple promotions like TNA, GCW, and AAA in the past few months. Many wonder if JBL would show up in AEW. Recently, the Hall of Famer was also questioned about whether he would like to manage MJF in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
In a recent Q&A session with Gerald Brisco, JBL shared his thoughts on potentially managing MJF in All Elite Wrestling. Bradshaw said that he's a huge fan of Friedman and called him a great talent but is unsure whether he would like to manage the former World Champion.
"I don’t know. It’s a great question (would I work with MJF in AEW as a manager). I’m a big fan of MJF. I’ve told this story a few times. I met him in England one time and got to ride to the airport with him and spent part of the day with him because we both had a signing and a big fan of his. He’s a really smart guy, he’s a sharp guy. I think he’s a great talent." [From 16:10 to 16:28]
JBL noted how MJF is about to be a movie star and has landed a role in a Happy Gilmore movie:
No idea about working with him or anything like that. He’s in AEW. It sounds like he’s about to be a movie star now again. He just got a role in Happy Gilmore or something. Hopefully, he doesn’t call me out too. I’d be a little more worried about him than I would be Paul Walter Hauser. [From 16:48 to 17:05]

In the same exclusive video, WWE legend John Bradshaw Layfield stated that he loves seeing guys like Randy Orton and MJF getting in the best shape and changing up their characters. The veteran said that it shows that they have great passion and love for the professional wrestling business.
"One thing I love about guys is you look at how kind of shape they get in. So look at Randy Orton right now, he’s changed his character by getting into incredible shape. MJF is in incredible shape right now. It tells me he has a real passion for the business and a real love for the business so, yeah." [From 16:30 to 16:44]
MJF has been absent from television since AEW All Out. It will be interesting to see if Friedman goes after the World Title after his return to television.
