AEW star Sting recently asked fans for help on social media. He recently hung up his boots after a great run in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
The Icon made his All Elite debut in 2020 and was teamed up with Darby Allin throughout his career. The duo wrestled many classic bouts during their time in the promotion. They even captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship and retained them in his retirement match against Young Bucks at the 2024 Revolution pay-per-view.
Sting has been known as a selfless soul who has helped many young talents in the company. Not only in the ring, but he has also been regarded as a generous personality in real life. He recently sent out a tweet requesting his fans to help his friend Mike Kelley if they can, who served as a security guard to WCW and TNA stars.
"Mike Kelly was one of the WCW and TNA security guys who had our backs through all the airports, hotels, arenas. He has just gone through a liver transplant, if you would like to help," he tweeted.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Lex Luger reveals Sting helped him during his worst times
Lex Luger was one of the most captivating WWE stars back in the day. However, he succumbed to many bad habits later in his career.
While speaking with Under The Ring, the WWE veteran revealed that the Vigilante firmly stood behind him when Luger struggled to get out of his addictions.
"He never gave up on me, even during the worst times of my life. He'd leave voicemails when I wouldn't answer the phone — when I went through a bad period of addictions with s*x, dr*gs, and alcohol. People thought I was going to be the next wrestler found dead. Stinger never gave up on me, and we're the best of friends to this day — he's a special guy and a special friend," he said.
It remains to be seen when will The Icon return to AEW in any other capacity.
