A WWE Hall of Famer has pointed out a seemingly big issue with the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley's ongoing heel run. Moxley has been playing his heel character alongside the Death Riders for months now. While commenting on his recent run, WWE legend Bully Ray raised some issues with it.
Jon Moxley successfully retained the AEW World Championship by overcoming Orange Cassidy, Jay White, and Hangman Page in a four-way match at Worlds End 2024 with the help of Death Riders. Moxley will continue his reign of terror going into 2025.
Bully Ray (fka Bubba Ray Dudely) stated that AEW was getting things so wrong with the ongoing Death Riders storyline that it wasn't even funny. Bully also noted that neither Adam Copeland (fka Edge) nor Moxley could convince him that he was wrong. He felt that Mox needed to paint a better picture of why he was trying to destroy AEW.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said:
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
"They're getting this so wrong it's not funny, and I don't care if Adam Copeland comes on this show, or Jon Moxley comes on this show to try and tell me I'm wrong because I'm not. If at the end of the day, Moxley wants to destroy AEW because it's turned into something that he doesn't like, he needs to paint a better picture." [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Jon Moxley is set for a blockbuster trios match on AEW Dynamite
After Moxley retained his AEW World Title at Worlds End 2024, Adam Copeland (fka Edge) made his return alongside FTR and went right after the Death Riders. Copeland also warned Moxley that he was coming for him.
After the show, a trios match between Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta and Copeland, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler, named RatedFTR, was made official. The multi-man match is set to take place this Wednesday at Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen.
It now remains to be seen what transpires between Death Riders and RatedFTR on the January 1, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite.
