AEW veteran Jim Ross has called matches alongside Michael Cole in the WWE many times in the past decade. JR recently took to social media to make an interesting claim about the Monday Night RAW commentator.
Michael Cole is widely regarded as one of the greatest commentators in the Stamford-based promotion. After Triple H took over the WWE in 2022, the fans began to praise Cole for his incredible commentary and the veteran himself has expressed about the creative freedom he has now while calling the action.
During an interview with The Ringer, Jim Ross claimed that Michael Cole does his job better than he did during his time with the Stamford-based promotion. JR worked for the WWE for 25 years before jumping ship to AEW in 2019.
"He does his job today better than I did my job then," Jim Ross said. [H/T: The Ringer]

Michael Cole reveals why former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon respected him
During his leadership, Vince McMahon always stayed in Michael Cole's ear and passed on many things to him that he'd want Cole to say on live television. The 55-year-old has been vocal about how comfortable he is working under Triple H as compared to McMahon.
In an interview with Bryan Curtis, Michael Cole revealed that he'd get in the face of Vince McMahon when he ordered him to say some inappropriate stuff on commentary. Cole stated that Vince respected him for stepping up for himself.
"I’m not going to lie, there have been times where he [Vince McMahon] has said things to me [via headset] that were inappropriate. I would go back to Gorilla after the show and get in his face and tell him, 'That was bullsh*t.' He respected that I did that," Michael Cole said.
Vince McMahon officially resigned from his position at World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year after alarming allegations were made against him by Janel Grant.
