WWE Monday Night RAW's Sheamus did not hold back in showering praise on a member of AEW's Death Riders. The group consists of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Marina Shafir. The Celtic Warrior was speaking about his former tag team partner in WWE, Claudio Castagnoli.

The current AEW World Trios Champion left WWE in 2021 to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Claudio Castagnoli had a decent career in WWE despite not getting to hold a world title, he is a former Tag Team and United States Champion in the promotion. However, the former Cesaro left behind some memorable bouts against his former Tag Team partner, Sheamus.

In a recent chat on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus opened up about working with Claudio Castagnoli. The veteran praised Claudio for his work ethic and spoke about how their memorable Best of 7 series storyline came about in 2016.

“Claudio just came back and he did a short run. I think he did something to his shoulder, and then all of a sudden he was doing nothing. I know Claudio well. He’s very, very passionate, he’s very motivated, he’s very disciplined. I know he put a lot of effort into coming back. Then he comes back and after a short time, there’s nothing there for him, he has a chip on his shoulder to show people how good he is, and in the ring he is one of the best. So I was going through a phase after being World Champion with Roman, then we did the League of Nations thing, which kind of just self-imploded, and then we’re just thrown into to the best of seven stuff."

The Celtic Warrior noted how he and Claudio eventually won the fans over by having great matches:

"We’d already wrestled each other twice, and people were just like I’ve seen this match twice already. But then by the end we told a great story over seven matches, and really had people involved. Then the yay boo stuff as well was fantastic and just our chemistry just grew and grew and grew. That was one of the funnest periods of my entire career working with him. It was great.” [H/T:Chrisvanvliet.com]

Claudio Castagnoli recently formed a deadly alliance with Jon Moxley in AEW

At the AEW All Out 2024 PPV event, the Blackpool Combat Club officially disbanded when Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli turned heel on Bryan Danielson. The group was changed to the Death Riders led by Moxley who also added PAC, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta to the faction.

With Jon Moxley as the World Champion, and PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli as the World Trios Champions, there's no stopping the Death Riders in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Rated-FTR (Cope, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) recently stood up to the Death Riders in AEW. We will have to wait and see if they can stop the faction.
