Michael Cole name-dropped AEW star Jon Moxley during the Survivor Series Wargames Premium Live Event kickoff show. He mentioned that his favorite Survivor Series moment happened in 2012 when The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns) made their debut as CM Punk's Mercenaries.

“For me, my favorite Survivor Series moment was 2012, and that was the night that Ambrose and Rollins and Reigns appeared as The Shield coming in as mercenaries for CM Punk. And that was a night that really changed the landscape of all of WWE, and you see where they are in their careers now,” said Cole.

The fans were quick to note this and went online to talk about Cole name-dropping an AEW star on a WWE PLE. Here's what they had to say.

A fan wrote, "Shame Moxley has 0 intention of going back to WWE."
"Love how wwe isn’t shying away from past wrestlers and their past accomplishments in other companies," said this fan.
This user commented, "Is not really a big deal wwe owns the name dean ambrose."
"Dean was my favorite in the Shield, since day 1," a tweet read.

Wrestling legend unhappy with Jon Moxley and Death Riders' booking in AEW

On the recent edition of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, wrestling veteran Konnan gave his thoughts on Jon Moxley and The Death Rider's storyline in AEW. He said that the angle doesn't interest him.

"I'm absolutely not interested, they've done nothing to interest me. They don't come off as intimidating or interesting. Whoever is writing this, if it's [Jon] Moxley, that's good because you're getting a lot of TV at the beginning and you look cool. But, I'm not invested in this at all."

The Purveyor of Violence turned heel a few months ago and is on a quest to redeem AEW with the help of Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and PAC. He is the current World Champion and recently defended his title at Full Gear against Orange Cassidy.
