WWE Superstar won’t retire until she faces AJ Lee; CJ Perry reacts

A top WWE NXT star has claimed that she would not retire until she gets to face former Divas Champion, AJ Lee. CJ Perry recently shared an interesting reaction to the comment.

The WWE Superstar in question is the current NXT Women's Champion, Roxanne Perez. She has been one of the most promising female performers on the Stamford-based promotion's roster since her debut. Perez is seemingly inspired by retired pro wrestler, AJ Lee, as she mentioned her recently.

Roxanne Perez addressed rumors of AJ Lee's WWE return during a recent interview with Ring The Belle. The 22-year-old said she was hopeful that Lee would come back and do something with her in pro wrestling. Perez further claimed that she couldn't retire until she got her dream match against the former WWE Divas Champion.

Interestingly, former WWE Superstar CJ Perry (fka Lana) noticed Perez's comments about Lee. On Twitter, she shared the following message:

AJ Lee had an incredibly memorable run in WWE from 2009 to 2015. It can't be denied that she played a crucial role in the progression of women's wrestling. Hence, fans have been speculating about Lee's potential return to the ring for a long time.

During an interview with MMA Uncaged in 2022, Lee commented on a possible in-ring comeback.

"But all of the bugs of wrestling and all those things, there are definitely many people in my ear, trying to get me to do things and we're gonna take it slow. We're going to start with WOW, we're gonna start with commentating and producing, and, you know, just one step at a time."

The former Divas Champion worked with Women of Wrestling between 2021 and 2023 in non-wrestling roles. It will be interesting to see if she will return to the global juggernaut for one final run.
