Swerve Strickland has been hailed by a WWE veteran amid his meteoric rise, and he said that it was ‘One of the best ever in the biz.’ This is a great endorsement, if there is one.
Strickland had a great 2024 as he became the AEW World Champion and also had great matches against the likes of Hangman Adam Page and Bobby Lashley. As a result of that, he has firmly placed himself in the main event scene.
WWE veteran Dustin Rhodes, who is also Strickland’s colleague in AEW, has chimed in on his advancement and said that he would love to be his coach. Taking to Twitter/X, he wrote:
“My fave in @aew besides my partner @sammyguevara is @swerveconfident. His rise has been one of the best ever in the biz. Love to be his coach.”

It will be interesting to see if the former AEW World Champion will take him up on his wishes.
Tommy Dreamer disagrees with Swerve Strickland’s recent treatment
Swerve Strickland has been involved in a feud with the Hurt Syndicate and, in particular, against Bobby Lashley. The two men took on each other, and Lashley came out on top.
Tommy Dreamer has offered his opinion on the situation. On a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio podcast, he said that he did not like how the Hurt Syndicate attacked Strickland.
"I don't think that helped my babyface Swerve, who's cool. He does everything. He is a violent man and he's done some violent things. He's also a smart, intelligent babyface. When I see stuff like that, I'm like, 'How did you not know Shelton wasn't going to jump you from behind?' But then my other part is Nana. Nana should have been the one to like prevent them," Dreamer explained.
Swerve Strickland's on-screen persona is definitely all that Dreamer mentioned and more. It will be interesting to see how his rivalry with Bobby Lashley evolves in the coming days and months.
