Jon Moxley is one of the biggest stars in AEW. Despite this, a WWE veteran is no longer a fan of the World Champion.
Konnan is the latest to comment on Jon Moxley's recent booking. The Purveyor of Violence has been one of the biggest stars in AEW. He has been the company's flag bearer for the past couple of years.
Currently, Moxley is on a dangerous run as leader of The Death Riders. They have taken the company hostage and want to restore AEW to its glory days. Mox and his crew grow more dangerous with each passing week. However, WWE veteran Konnan has admitted that he is no longer a fan of the World Champion.
Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 Official podcast, Konnan recalled hearing about Mox for the first time from a WWE trainer. He said that he became a fan of Moxley after watching one of his promos. However, he also admitted that he's no longer a fan of the AEW star:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I remember Norman Smiley who works at the like training guide in WWE and I remember him saying here there's this guy...what was his name before Moxley....Dean Ambrose. He goes there's this kid called Dean Ambrose you got to look out for him cause he's very different. He walks to the beat of his own drum and he's going to be a star one day and so I went and I looked for him and I saw this promo he did in the Indies and I was like, 'Wow! this guy is good'. So, I was a big Dean Ambrose Moxley fan too. I'm not a fan of what he's doing right now." [2:15 - 2:55]
Konnan also said that he is no longer interested in Jon Moxley and The Death Riders
The Death Riders storyline is one of the biggest in AEW at the moment. The group has taken out several stars and many people are afraid to confront them. Even the EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson preferred to take a leave of absence instead of dealing with Mox and his crew. This angle has received mixed reactions due to the chaotic nature involved.
While Konnan stated that he is no longer a fan of Jon Moxley, the wrestling legend also stated on his Keepin' It 100 Official podcast that he is not interested in the Death Riders storyline:
"I'm absolutely not interested, they've done nothing to interest me. They don't come off as intimidating or interesting. Whoever is writing this, if it's [Jon] Moxley, that's good because you're getting a lot of TV at the beginning and you look cool. But, I'm not invested in this at all." [From 10:00 to 10:20]
It will be interesting to see who will be next in line to step up to Jon Moxley and his crew.
