Recent reports of Shane McMahon meeting with AEW head Tony Khan have caused a stir of rumors in the pro wrestling community, including speculation about the company's ownership changing hands to Vince McMahon. According to WWE veteran Vince Russo, this may be the right time to do it.

While All Elite Wrestling had an explosive start as a new wrestling company, it is quite clear that its popularity has waned over the last few years. Furthermore, a slew of backstage controversies have also led to ratings and viewership going down. As such, Tony Khan's optimism has seemingly failed to convince fans that the company is heading to a bright future.

Considering WBD's negotiating window with the company regarding a TV deal has reportedly expired, Vince Russo thinks Tony Khan should work with the McMahons. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws hosted by Mac Davis, Russo stated:

"You know what else took place today, Mac? The negotiating timetable between WBD and AEW expired. In other words, bro, if Tony Khan does not have a television rights deal, AEW is done! They are freaking done, bro. So if he saw that writing on the wall, you are damn well I am gonna talk to Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon, bro, because if all of a sudden I don't have a television station, I don't have a company, bro." The WWE veteran believes AEW would get a TV deal immediately if Tony Khan made arrangements with the McMahons

The meeting between Shane McMahon and Tony Khan has led to speculation about AEW being sold to Vince McMahon, something which Vince Russo wholeheartedly believes.

On the same episode of The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo explained that if the company's ownership changed hands, it would be very easy for the McMahons to procure a TV deal. Despite the controversy surrounding Vince McMahon, Russo believes they still had enough reputation to bag a TV slot.

"The McMahon name will get a television deal anywhere. Anywhere, bro, the McMahon name." [7:51 onwards]

For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see what these developments may mean for the future of Tony Khan's company.
