A WWE veteran recently extended his services to AEW President and CEO Tony Khan. The individual in question, Vince Russo, has also previously served in creative positions in WCW and TNA.
All Elite Wrestling is currently paving the road en route to its upcoming pay-per-view, Full Gear 2024, on its weekly programming. While the promotion currently has a number of charged and exciting storylines in the making and has generated much interest for its imminent November 23 event, critics have suggested that the apparent stagnancy in viewership figures drawn by AEW's flagship television shows recently could be an index of less-than-perfect booking.
Former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo has long been one such critic of Tony Khan's product. Some time ago, he took to X/Twitter to seemingly clarify that he was open to providing the AEW Creative Head his professional counsel as a consultant to enhance the company's programming, asserting that he would bring about improvements in its viewership numbers in the span of a year.
"If @TonyKhan EVER wanted to call, I would gladly accept it. I give my professional criticism to HELP. It's NO GOOD for ANYBODY involved in the Wrestling Business for @AEW to FAIL. Yes---as a Consultant---I would turn those numbers around in ONE YEAR. Been there---done that," wrote Russo.

Russo may have been referencing his work for WWE in the late 1990s, when his contributions are said to have allowed the Stamford-based company to eventually overshadow its then-rival brand, WCW.
Vince Russo commented on newly-signed AEW star MVP
The arrival of The Hurt Syndicate in AEW, starting with MVP's All Elite debut on Dynamite Grand Slam 2024, Shelton Benjamin's debut on the Five Year Anniversary of the Wednesday night show, and Bobby Lashley's arrival on Fright Night Dynamite last month, has played a huge role in generating hype for Full Gear 2024 and for the promotion's programming in general.
On a recent edition of Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, Vince Russo heaped praise on MVP and discussed how The Franchise Playa had the acumen to greatly elevate the former Hurt Business members' presentation in All Elite Wrestling.
"It all depends on the way they presented it and the beauty of this is, MVP's very intelligent. He can present this on an intellectual level, he could present it based on facts, he could literally make a case for it that would make people think about it and that would put Tony Khan in an uneasy position. I think that's the perfect guy that could do that." [2:50 - 3:32]
MVP's stablemate, Lashley, is scheduled to face Swerve Strickland at Full Gear. It remains to be seen how the blockbuster pay-per-view match will play out.
