Some of the biggest names in the industry have worked in WWE over the years, and their children have since followed them. Veteran referee Earl Hebner recently confirmed that his daughter Katie will now follow him into pro wrestling officiating.

Earl Hebner was a WWE referee between 1988 and 2005, officiating many of the promotion's biggest matches. Additionally, he refereed in AEW between 2019 and 2021 but never signed with the promotion.

During his recent appearance on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, Hebner expressed his happiness about his daughter following in his footsteps. He mentioned that Katie will be officiating with AEW sometime in the next few weeks:

“I wanted her to be a referee to begin with, but everybody wants to do their own thing. It’s fine with me, whatever she wants (to do), what makes her happy. So, if it works out, we’ll have another Hebner in the business.” (H/T: Wrestling Inc.).

Despite his major contributions to WWE over the years, Earl Hebner has yet to be inducted into the promotion's Hall of Fame. During an appearance on the Reffin' It Up podcast, the veteran noted that his induction isn't up to him, despite feeling that he deserves to be included up there.

Katie Hebner recently confirmed that she'll be following in her WWE veteran father's footsteps

Earl Hebner was notably part of the infamous Montreal Screwjob but officiated other matches as well during Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels' heated feud. According to AEW's Jim Ross, HBK once became aggressive with Hebner after striking The Hitman.

In a recent Facebook post, Katie Hebner recalled the memories of her father taking her to Studio 19 and 21 as a child and likely teasing an ROH debut since tapings were held at the venue recently.

"Full circle moment: I spent many summers and holiday breaks down here with my dad at Studio 19 & 21 . Years later, I'm down here, on my own, in the same stage, chasing the same dream," Hebner posted.

It remains to be seen if Hebner's appearance will be acknowledged by Ring of Honor or Tony Khan. However, she could additionally appear on AEW or be signed by Khan, but with a WWE veteran as a dad, many doors are likely opened for her.
