Many on the AEW roster have praised Tony Khan for being a great boss. However, over the years, we have seen several reports of talents being unhappy, and WWE veteran Vince Russo thinks Khan is to blame for these rumors.
While the Jacksonville-based promotion has a stacked roster, many of its stars are not usually utilized for more than a few matches. Ricky Starks, for instance, has been absent from the active for several weeks at this point, despite showing promise whenever he had TV time. Rumors of Starks potentially moving to WWE have also surfaced, owing to his apparent dissatisfactory run.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo explained how Tony Khan unnecessarily brought in more stars without properly using the ones he already had on his roster.
"What does he [Tony Khan] do? This roster grows and grows. When he doesn't know what to do with [Ricky] Starks anymore, he brings in another guy. When he doesn't know what to do, he brings in another guy. That's why they're unhappy bro. Just get a 'Who's on the team?' [holds up a list of names] and develop that team!" [From 08:56 onwards]
Former WWE star Shane McMahon is rumored to be joining AEW as well
Another shocking new name that may be added to AEW is none other than Shane McMahon, if recent rumors are to be believed.
The latest reports have been indicating that Shane may be contemplating joining Tony Khan's organization in some capacity, perhaps as more than just an on-screen character. According to Vince Russo, McMahon is more likely to join in a non-wrestling capacity.
Speaking on the latest episode of Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, the WWE veteran stated:
"I can definitely see if it's in some type of an ownership role. Whether it's 20% or whatever it is. I can see Warner Brothers. Discovery wanting that. If Tony Khan was smart, he'd want that. I can not see Shane coming aboard as a fricking talent or a GM or a character. Come on, bro. Is Shane going to go from the heights of those matches he had in WWE to a show where 5000 people are watching? But part owner, interest in the company? That I can 100% see," Vince Russo said. As of now, only time will tell whether Shane McMahon will join Tony Khan's company.
