Bryan Danielson's neck has been quite hurt for some time now, and he might require surgery. Hence, a WWE veteran urged him to retire after getting surgery.
Nigel McGuinness is a legendary Ring of Honor wrestler who is known for his fierce rivalry with Bryan Danielson back in the day. Unlike Bryan, Nigel had to retire from in-ring competition back in 2011.
However, Nigel McGuinness made his return to the ring after 13 years at AEW All In and competed in the casino gauntlet match. Since then, he even called out Danielson for a match at Grand Slam.
Recently, Nigel was interviewed by Sports Illustrated, where he mentioned that Bryan is legitimately hurt and might require surgery. He apparently urged the AEW World Champion to retire after getting surgery by calling him "stupid" if he tried to wrestle post-surgery.

"It'd be hard not to for me given my opponent, given our history, and just giving father time as well," McGuiness said. "Bryan is legitimately banged up. His neck is screwed. He's probably going to have to have surgery. I would say he's definitely going to have to have surgery. And whether he'll ever wrestle again afterward remains to be seen. I think he's stupid enough to try." [H/T: Sports Illustrated]
Nigel McGuinness makes a promise to Bryan Danielson ahead of Grand Slam
Since Nigel McGuinness made the challenge to Bryan Danielson, the latter has yet to give his response. As a result, this frustrated Nigel, who got on the mic during Collision and demanded an answer from the AEW World Champion.
Following this, Nigel took to social media to promise Bryan that he was going to bring the best version of himself to their match if the American Dragon showed up.
"We saw Collision last night. You would have seen, I got a little emotional. The anger getting the better of me. Got a little screamy. But from the time since, I've had the chance to calm down and refocus. While everything I said was true, at least I belive it, I won't let anger get the better off me again. Bryan if you show up, you will get the very best version of me, without any excuses. And I hope you'll have none too. Balls in your court Bryan," said McGuinness.
It will be interesting to see if Bryan Danielson will show up at Grand Slam to face Nigel McGuinness.
