Wrestling fans have shared their responses to a 49-year-old legend hinting at one final run in WWE. The talent in question is none other than Matt Hardy.

The Broken One left AEW earlier this year after choosing not to re-sign with the Tony Khan-led promotion. Since then, he has crossed over to TNA, challenging Moose for the World Heavyweight Championship at Against All Odds 2024 in an unsuccessful effort. Matt and his allies were shockingly rescued from a post-match beatdown by Jeff Hardy, whose All Elite Wrestling contract had reportedly expired shortly before.

Matt Hardy has been outspoken in his willingness to return to WWE. In a recent interview, the former United States Champion revealed conversing with Jeff about retiring from the Stamford-based company, given the role played by the sports entertainment juggernaut in establishing Team Xtreme as one of the all-time greats. He also seemingly hinted at being open to a potential Hall of Fame induction for the duo.

An X/Twitter account recently posted a photograph of The Hardys from their time in WWE and captioned it with Matt's thoughts about him and his brother retiring in the promotion.

Fans flocked to share their reactions to the topic. Users voiced their excitement at The Hardy Boyz colliding with stars like The Creed Brothers, DIY, and especially with The Wyatt Sicks, considering The Angelic Diablo's history with Bray Wyatt.

Most fans were unanimous in their anticipation of Matt and Jeff Hardy possibly returning to the company, enjoying another run as tag team champions, being inducted into the Hall of Fame, and potentially contributing as coaches or producers after retirement.

Former WWE star Matt Hardy teased future involvement with The Wyatt Sicks

The Wyatt Sicks made a disturbing debut on this week's episode of Monday Night RAW. The spooky group laid waste to the backstage area and the gorilla position, taking out several WWE personnel, including former tag team champion Chad Gable.

The group's presentation on the show was a point of discussion between Matt and Jon Alba on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy. Upon being asked whether he had been contacted to be involved with the faction at any point, Hardy claimed that he had had conversations on the topic and hinted at his future participation in a program with The Wyatt Sicks, pointing to his 2018 feud and tag run with Bray Wyatt.

"The group was established but... There were some conversations that I took part in that maybe down the road, there might be something special because of my history with Bray [Wyatt]," he said. [9:14 - 9:24]

Given WWE's current working relationship with TNA, it remains to be seen whether The Hardys will attend the Triple H-led promotion.
