AEW star Jon Moxley has sent an ominous warning to a former ally of his from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He has also seemingly teased the prospective appearance of one of the members of the Death Riders at a major upcoming event.

The Purveyor of Violence has been living up to his moniker since his return to the Tony Khan-led promotion in August. Since capturing the AEW World Championship from and viciously attacking Bryan Danielson, Moxley has led his group, the Death Riders, formerly known as the Blackpool Combat Club, to wreak havoc on the All Elite roster, assaulting talent and backstage personnel supposedly for "the greater good" of the company.

The Ohio native's recent character shift elicited some remarks from his NJPW protege, Shota Umino, who recently voiced his disapproval of Moxley's gruesome methods of late, seemingly planting the seeds for a future confrontation. The 38-year-old star has now sent a message to The Roughneck, seemingly admonishing him over his comments and promising to send an "emissary" of his to Umino at the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Dynasty 2025.

"Shooter, Shooter, my man, you have made a mistake. A grave mistake. You've travelled down a dark path, a dark way of thinking, and I'm not mad, I'm just very disappointed. Let's go back to our first principles - we don't care what anybody thinks, we don't care what anybody says. What are you reading, what are you listening to, what's gotten inside your head?" Jon Moxley said.

The reigning AEW World Champion went on:

"We're gonna continue your education, and I will send an emissary to the Tokyo Dome to fix this problem you're having. And we'll continue moulding you into the champion that I know you can be." [H/T NJPW Global's X handle]

Jon Moxley's upcoming title defense set for AEW Full Gear 2024

After the Death Riders began waging war on the All Elite Wrestling locker room, the promotion's up-and-coming babyfaces, like Daniel Garcia and the Private Party, turned to Orange Cassidy to lead the charge against the heel group. However, The Freshly Squeezed turned down the role, claiming that he was unsuited for it.

This seemingly prompted the Death Riders to brutalize Cassidy's long-time friend, Chuck Taylor, in October, after which the 40-year-old star vowed to end Jon Moxley's reign himself and called the latter out for an AEW World Championship match at Full Gear 2024, a challenge which Mox accepted.

Seeing how Cassidy beat Moxley at AEW Full Gear last year, it remains to be seen if the former will be able to pull off another major upset later this month.
