Professional wrestler William Hobson, also known as Powerhouse Hobbs, was born on January 23, 1991, in East Palo Alto, California. He is currently part of the Don Callis family stable at AEW and is a previous AEW TNT champion. He has been wrestling since he was a teenager, and at the age of 18, he made his professional debut as Will Rood on APW's "Gym Wars" in 2009.
Before signing with AEW in 2020, he had an 11-year career in several indie promotions, including a cameo appearance at WWE in 2016. Hobson began performing as "Will Hobbs" for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in July 2020, competing on the YouTube show AEW Dark.
He competed in a 21-man Casino Battle Royale at the All Out pay-per-view in September 2020, which Lance Archer eventually won. Tony Khan, the president of AEW, noticed his performance in the game and signed a contract with the organization.
Hobbs qualified for the TNT Championship in March 2023 by winning a Face of the Revolution ladder match. Hobbs won the TNT Championship on the next Dynamite show by defeating Wardlow in a fall count anywhere battle, assisted by Q. T. Marshall. After that, Hobbs joined Marshall's "QTV" stable. However, Wardlow regained his championship in April 2023, and Hobbs left QTV.
He joined the Don Callis family in October 2023 and began pursuing Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.
