2024 is coming to an end and following AEW has been a rollercoaster experience for the fans. Tony Khan has put out several good shows and also some shows that were not so well received. However, what cannot be disputed is the fact that he signed up some great stars this year.

What started off with great promise is also shaping up to end in a great way with the culmination of the Worlds End pay per view on the weekend. From Bobby Lashley to Ricochet, there have been a host of stars that have been signed up by Tony Khan.

In this article, we will take a look at the top five stars that were signed by AEW in 2024.

#5. Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin is a wrestling stalwart. He has been in the wrestling industry for nearly two decades and he has earned the right to be called a veteran. After a lacklustre second stint in WWE, The Gold Standard was looking for a new opportunity and there came Tony Khan.

The AEW President signed up the veteran and ever since stepping foot inside the Jacksonville-based promotion, he has been top notch and has aligned himself with MVP and The Hurt Syndicate.

#4. Ricochet

Ricochet made his AEW debut at All In at Wembley Stadium when he showed up for the Casino Gauntlet match. The crowd absolutely loved his entrance and blew the roof off the place.

Since then, some fans feel that he has not been able to hit the heights as he would have expected but he is getting there. With this recent possible heel turn and his progress in this year's Continental Classic, he is surely on the path to become a top star and also win some gold.

#3. Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone is a show stopper in every sense of the word and that is what happened when she made her debut. It was a great sight to see the former WWE star in AEW and doing what she does best.

She has fully embraced her heel persona and is now one of the best champions in the company. With her achieving so much in less than a year, including the TBS Title and AEW Women's Title, Tony Khan will be hoping there is more to come from here in 2025.

#4. Kazuchika Okada

There was a lot of buzz when Kazuchika Okada signed with the company. Things got even more interesting when he aligned himself with The Elite and fully turned heel.

Over the course of the year, he has gone on to win some big matches and is now the Continental Champion. With The Elite by his side, it is only a matter of time before he gets a shot at the AEW World Title.

#1. Bobby Lashley signs with AEW

Signing Bobby Lashley was one of Tony Khan’s masterstrokes this year. The former WWE Champion is still in his prime and is slowly putting himself in the main event scene in AEW.

His match against Swerve Strickland showed everyone how dominant he can be and that he has not lost a step after exiting the Stamford-based promotion. Aligning himself with MVP and The Hurt Syndicate is only going to bode well for him in the future as he looks all set to become a top star.
