After a major outbreak of injuries, AEW has slowly been regaining much of its top talent this year. While stars like Kenny Omega and Adam Copeland are still out of action, former TNT Champion Will Hobbs might be back on television soon.
Powerhouse Hobbs joined All Elite Wrestling back in July 2020. The 33-year-old is an intimidating presence, but he's rarely had the opportunity to shine with the company. Following his iconic "Meat" match against Miro at All Out 2023, Hobbs joined the Don Callis Family, leading to a shot at Jon Moxley's IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in April this year.
Hobbs lost the match against Moxley and suffered a knee injury as well. He's been out of action since then, but Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has now reported that he could be very close to a return. According to Fightful, the 33-year-old has been cleared to wrestle and has been backstage at several AEW events lately.

AEW President Tony Khan addresses Will Hobbs' status
After floundering for a few years, it seemed that Powerhouse Hobbs was finally gaining a bit of momentum early in 2024. However, that was cut short when he suffered his knee injury.
Tony Khan seems to have a lot of faith in Hobbs, as he recently expressed his excitement over the young star's return. The AEW president addressed the former TNT Champion's status at the All Out media scrum earlier this month:
"We look forward to getting Will Hobbs back. I can’t say the exact date, but he’s somebody in our plans that we want to get going again soon. It’s been nice to see him backstage a couple of times lately. This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen him, which is a good thing that he keeps coming in for check ups and is making good progress," Khan said.
Powerhouse Hobbs recently shared a photo from a training session, and fans noted that he's in incredible shape. Whether he rejoins the Don Callis Family upon his return to action remains to be seen.
