AEW has made it a point to stack its roster with experienced talents to go along with the homegrown and rising stars. A recent report has indicated that another veteran of WWE and TNA Wrestling has joined the company.
Robert "RD" Evans made his pro wrestling debut in 2001, and since then he has worked as a wrestler, manager, creative writer, and producer. He wrestled for ROH and CHIKARA from 2010 to 2015. WWE hired Evans as a creative writer in October 2016, and he worked there until mid-2019. He left the company after an alleged incident with Vince McMahon.
Evans also made two on-screen enhancement talent appearances for WWE, including a spot with Ryback in 2013. RD joined TNA Wrestling in October 2019 as a writer and producer.
The Winnipeg Wonder left TNA in May 2024 after his relationship with the company seemingly became strained. He was "increasingly frustrated," according to PWInsider. RD has now joined All Elite Wrestling.

Evans started with AEW at Saturday's Collision taping in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He spent the weekend working on backstage segments and is expected to be at tonight's Dynamite in Des Moines, IA.
Sources reported that Evans made the decision to leave TNA, but others in the company tried to indicate that this was a mutual agreement. Evans' departure happened before the cuts in late May and was seemingly a separate situation.
