Over the past couple of years, AEW has seen several employees depart the promotion, including non-wrestling personnel such as CJ Perry, Arn Anderson, and Mark Henry, and in-ring talent like Jake Hager, The Hardys, and Ethan Page. It seems that the Tony Khan-led company could be on the verge of losing another prominent name in Maria Kanellis.

The First Lady of Professional Wrestling debuted in All Elite Wrestling in 2022 alongside her husband, Mike Bennett, and the latter's tag partner, Matt Taven. The former WWE superstar then moved to AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor, where she began managing up-and-comers Cole Karter and Griff Garrison and participated in storylines featuring Rachael Ellering and "Legit" Leyla Hirsch.

Kanellis had been dealing with health complications throughout last year. She underwent surgery in October, the same month she previously stated that her All Elite Wrestling contract was set to expire. However, a new update on the subject from Fightful Select claims that AEW and Maria Kanellis had supposedly agreed on a mutually beneficial extension that runs through January 2025. This agreement concludes at the end of this month.

The report also claims that an announcement was planned regarding this extension, which ultimately was never made. Unless the two sides reach a new deal, the 42-year-old could be poised to depart from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Kanellis revealed in a positive health update in December last year that she was "cancer-free."

AEW figure Maria Kanellis made an announcement regarding future bookings

While speculations have continued to circulate regarding the future of Maria Kanellis in pro-wrestling, the AEW-ROH personality took to social media last week to disclose upcoming dates on which she would presumably be available for various commitments.

"Reposting because well I missed a few letters in my email because well kids… hahaha… Dates available for signings in February and March. I am also interested in commentary, interviews, and booking if the opportunity feels right. February 21-23 March 28-30 [email protected]," wrote Kanellis.

It remains to be seen whether Kanellis will stay with All Elite Wrestling or use her talents elsewhere.
