AEW All In is the next major Pay-Per-View for the Jacksonville-based promotion and according to recent reports, the company is planning to bring in a top indie star. The name in question is none other than Michael Oku.
The 27-year-old is the current RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and is one of the biggest stars on the independent circuit not signed to a major wrestling promotion. He recently teased appearing at the All In PPV in a video compilation on social media. Michael Oku is also set to challenge MJF for his American Championship at RevPro Summer Sizzler this weekend.
In a recent report by Fightful Select's Corey Brennan, Oku, as well as RevPro's Amira Blair, are being considered by All Elite Wrestling for the All In PPV and the upcoming Dynamite tapings on August 21 in Cardiff, Wales. The announcement of Michael's appearance at the UK shows could be made soon.
AEW CEO Tony Khan would love to see Sting at All In
The Icon Sting retired from wrestling earlier this year at the AEW Revolution PPV and has not been seen since in the Jacksonville-based promotion. In an interview last year with BBC West Midlands, Tony Khan noted that even though Sting has hung up his boots, he would like to see the veteran appear in some capacity at Wembley show.
“Of course, Sting was a huge part of the original AEW All In at Wembley Stadium. When Sting came out to Metallica, what a moment. ‘Seek and Destroy’ will be something that will live on in perpetuity in the video library as a great moment. I hope Sting will come. He’ll be retired at that point, but I hope he’ll still come be an ambassador because he’s in many ways AEW’s greatest legend, and I think he’s one of wrestling’s greatest legends.”
Sting has been open about not wanting to work backstage in All Elite Wrestling after his retirement. It will be interesting to see if The Vigilante returns at All In.
