A major free agent has seemingly backed out of a certain event, possibly due to her affiliation with AEW. This comes at a time when her status in the industry has been a big question mark. This would be Megan Bayne.
Bayne previously worked with STARDOM before departing from the promotion earlier this year. She has been reportedly signed with All Elite Wrestling, so the belief was that following her stint with the Japanese promotion, she would head back to Tony Khan's company. However, this has been an unclear situation, as she is currently a free agent despite being in talks with AEW.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Megan Bayne was expected to appear during Marigold's current tour. Despite leaving STARDOM, the 26-year-old had a verbal agreement to appear for Rossy Ogawa's new company. However, it seems that nothing came to fruition, seemingly due to Bayne's connection to AEW.
"Marigold expected Megan Bayne to be in for the current tour. She had left Stardom, and apparently verbally agreed to switch to Marigold. She asked if she could bring another woman on the tour with her, Rebecca Scott. Rossy Ogawa agreed to it and they planned on five foreign women on the tour and had prepared visas for both of them."
It was reported that the Jacksonville-based promotion seemingly did not wish for any of their talent to appear on Marigold.
"She told Marigold that she had a contract problem with AEW. I would say with the politics as they are, AEW would likely not want one of their wrestlers working for Marigold. Evidently they never heard back from either of them and assumed neither were coming but never actually got emails returned when asked," WON reported.
Update on another AEW signing's imminent debut
It was previously reported that major free agent Kamille had signed with All Elite Wrestling. However, there has been minimal movement regarding her debut with the company.
Another report has surfaced regarding The Brickhouse. During the Backstage Report podcast by Fightful Select, it was reported that major plans have been in motion. These included materials and graphics being prepared. The timeline for the debut remains in question, but it could be soon.
While Kamille has yet to debut for the Tony Khan-led promotion, she is set to make her overall in-ring return at an independent event, roughly a month since her last match.
