Backstage details on AEW's rumored new show - Reports

A report has emerged regarding a new show that AEW is rumored to be developing. The update in question pertains to backstage rumors amongst talent and personnel in the company about the supposedly upcoming program.

All Elite Wrestling is on a hot streak in terms of programming, having returned to Wembley Stadium last month for the very successful 2024 iteration of All In. Weeks later, on September 7, the Jacksonville-based company presented its subsequent pay-per-view All Out 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. The event is still a huge talking point among wrestling fans for its excellent card of world-class matches, including an exceedingly violent Unsanctioned main event.

It was reported last week that All Elite Wrestling had filed for the trademark AEW: Shockwave for what has been assumed will be a new wrestling show. All Elite CEO Tony Khan seemingly acknowledged the filing during the All Out post-show media scrum without revealing precise details.

Speculations on the internet continued to grow amidst the company's ongoing media rights negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery, especially after it was reported that AEW was negotiating with a non-WBD entity for additional programming as well.

Since then, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has reported that All Elite Wrestling: Shockwave could potentially air on FOX. The TV network giant recently saw its broadcasting relationship with WWE Smackdown end and has supposedly shown interest in a deal with the Tony Khan-led promotion.

A new update has now emerged on the subject from Ibou of WrestlePurists, who revealed that the rumors circulating amongst All Elite talent and in circles tied to the company suggest that Shockwave could potentially be a one-hour show to be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

What to expect this week on AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling will host the September 11, 2024 edition of Dynamite in Lexington, Kentucky. The episode will deal with the fallout from All Out 2024 this past week.

Jon Moxley is scheduled to potentially address The Blackpool Combat Club's betrayal of reigning World Champion Bryan Danielson after his successful title defense against Jack Perry. Two matches have also been announced for the show: a Tag Team Casino Gauntlet bout whose winners will receive a shot at the World Tag Team Championship at Grand Slam and a Women's World Title Eliminator Match between Queen Aminata and champion Mariah May.

It remains to be seen how the card for the upcoming episode of Dynamite will shape up before the show airs.
