A veteran journalist provided some backstage details regarding the AEW President, Tony Khan's recent signing. The star made his heavily anticipated debut on Collision last week.
The star in question is none other than Hologram (fka Aramis). The Masked Luchador finally made his AEW in-ring debut on Collision this Saturday after weeks of hype and anticipation. The 25-year-old star squared off against Gringo Loco and registered a win in his debut as well.
Meanwhile, the veteran wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer noted some backstage details regarding Hologram while speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio after his debut. Meltzer noted that Tony Khan had the idea for Aramis for four to five years before it went through:
"Tony Khan has had an idea for Aramis for probably five years, maybe four. For whatever reason, it never materialized, and now it has. In the interim, since he had this idea, we have had so many luchadores come through. Aramis is very good and his moves were good and everything, but to me it was like, I felt like, how's he any different from Komander?"

Meltzer thinks Hologram is not different from Komander:
"And Komander’s probably the better of the two, but Komander’s a jobber. Look, Tony Khan's wanted his luchador superhero with that gimmick for a long, long time. The guy's good, it's just a question of pushing him and how far you can go with him." [H/T WOR]
Dave Meltzer on concerns regarding Tony Khan's recent signing
Dave Meltzer also addressed the concerns regarding Tony Khan's recent signing, Hologram (fka Aramis) who made his AEW in-ring debut on Collision last week. Meltzer stated the following:
"But when I'm watching it, it's like, I was very impressed but at the same time I felt like he was not out of the ordinary. Five years ago, if I had seen this, I'd have said this guy's out of the ordinary, but we've seen so much and it's a lot harder to impress with moves and cool moves alone, because man we've seen so many cool moves in the last five years. If he gets a whole bunch of wins, will the people react to him like a star? Remains to be seen." [H/T WOR]
Meanwhile, fans on the internet have been talking about Hologram after his impressive debut on Collision. Only time will tell what Tony has in store for the Luchador.
