AEW star Malakai Black is the leader of the stable House of Black. On this week's Dynamite, Malakai Black locked horns with former NXT Champion Adam Cole in one-on-one action. This match ended with Cole's victory.

After winning, he approached the leader of House of Black for a handshake. However, Black responded by embracing his opponent. This gesture by the former WWE star was unexpected, leading fans to speculate that he might be on his way out of the company.

Thankfully, Fightful provided an update on the situation. According to reports, Malakai Black's contract with All Elite Wrestling might end by the end of this year or early next year, but this is unconfirmed. In 2022, Tony Khan stated that the wrestler signed an almost five-year-long deal. However, this agreement might include option years.

In 2022, rumors were that the former AEW World Trios Champion wanted to rejoin WWE. However, Khan seems to have no intention of letting his roster get out of their deals and join the rival promotion, be it Black or anybody else.

According to Malakai Black, professional wrestling needs less "Michael Bay"

Earlier this year, Black was interviewed by Developmentally Speaking, where he expressed his frustrations with modern wrestling.

He firmly believed the industry needs more emotion and “less Michael Bay.”

"Wrestling needs less Michael Bay and more thought-provoking methodology. You take guys like Gunther, who are insanely good. I don’t think I’ve ever watched that man have a match that made me, ‘Eh.’ He’s so incredibly good, and that is in a modern setting. He knows how to draw emotion out and that’s why I’ve always been into character stuff and building stuff throughout these lenses of characters," said Black. [H/T 411 Mania]
