A major update has emerged regarding the status of top AEW star Jay White. According to recent reports, the latter has been dealing with an injury.
The Switchblade was last seen in action in the squared circle on the July 6, 2024 episode of Collision. He was defeated in the semifinals of the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament by Hangman Adam Page after suffering an illegal spear from Christian Cage, a move that the referee missed. This resulted from the recently developing rivalry between The Bang Bang Gang and The Patriarchy in the trio's division.
Later this month, The Gunns and Juice Robinson were stripped of the Unified World Trios Titles by interim EVP Christopher Daniels since Robinson was substituting for White, who had initially won the championships alongside Austin and Colten Gunn at the Zero Hour pre-show to Dynasty 2024.
Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Killswitch secured the vacated belts after they defeated Robinson and The Gunns on last week's episode of AEW Collision. As the feud between The Bang Bang Gang and The Patriarchy continues to intensify, an update has emerged regarding Jay White's health condition.

A recent report from Bryan Alvarez claims that the foot injury sustained by the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, which led to The Bang Bang Gang having to vacate the unified World Trios Championships, is legitimate. Thankfully, the report noted that White is not expected to miss out on a considerable duration of time.
"Jay White's injury that caused The Bang Bang Gang to vacate the AEW Trios titles is a legitimate foot injury, but White is not expected to miss a significant amount of time." [H/T - F4WOnline]
Renee Dupree thinks AEW's Jay White should go to WWE
Despite being regarded as one of the most promising wrestlers in the world today, Jay White's recent career trajectory in AEW has been a point of contention among fans and industry veterans alike.
Although the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has lately been active in the trio's division of the Tony Khan-led promotion, many believe a star of White's caliber deserves a top spot as a singles competitor.
Former WWE superstar Rene Dupree echoed such views, suggesting that the former Bullet Club leader would thrive in the Triple H-led company. On an episode of the Cafe De Rene podcast last month, he responded to a fan claiming that Jay White would flourish in WWE by implying that the latter still has time to join the sports entertainment juggernaut.
"It's never too late... I'm sorry Jay. I don't mean to offend you but they were trying to quick fix because of Kenny Omega leaving. So they put the title on [Jay White]," Dupree said. (57:23 - 58:07)
It remains to be seen when Jay White will return to action in AEW.
