Bryan Danielson may be on course to achieve a rare feat that has been accomplished by only three wrestlers thus far. The American Nightmare can become the fifth name in wrestling history to have competed inside the ring at Wembley Stadium, Madison Square Garden, Tokyo Dome, and Arena Mexico.
Danielson is currently slated to challenge AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland at All In 2024 after winning the Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on last week's Dynamite. The former WWE Champion has made it clear that 2024 will be his final year as a full-time performer. Hence, the anticipation among viewers to see him headline a major pay-per-view has increased multifold.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Bryan Danielson Danielson could etch his name in history books if he wrestled at Wembley Stadium on August 25. He mentioned that Danielson could become only the fourth man after Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and John Tenta to have competed at historic venues like Wembley, MSG, Tokyo Dome, and Arena Mexico.
Tommy Dreamer wants to see Bryan Danielson win the AEW World Championship
On a recent episode of Busted Open, Tommy Dreamer said Danielson winning the AEW World Title at All In 2024 could make for a memorable moment. He highlighted how The American Nightmare holding the title over his shoulder with the crowd erupting with "Yes" chants would be a sight to behold.
"Could you see Bryan Danielson, confetti flying, 'Final Countdown' going, and he's your champion, and everyone - fifty/sixty thousand - going 'Yes, yes, yes?' That's gonna be a moment," Dreamer imagined, comparing it to another famous title win. "Honestly, I hope it captures the emotion of Terry Funk [winning the ECW Championship] at Barely Legal."
Danielson has been in fine form in recent months, and there's little doubt he would bring the house down with Strickland inside the packed Wembley Stadium.
