In the decades before AEW was founded, major promotions were expected to tour on a near-constant basis. The life of a wrestler was a life on the road, with many of WWE's top stars making the long drives between shows and spending more time in hotels than they did at home.

WCW did this as well, and while WWE has relaxed this requirement in recent years, its stars still maintain heavy schedules. However, Tony Khan never intended this to be how All Elite Wrestling operated. Since the Jacksonville-based promotion doesn't produce untelevised live events (AKA house shows), its talents only have to leave their homes once or twice per week, and they generally don't have to drive, as the company flies them in for television.

In a recent Q&A segment on Fightful Select, the question of whether AEW stars have to pay for their flights and/or hotels was answered. According to Fightful, both World Wrestling Entertainment and All Elite Wrestling pay for their wrestlers' flights. However, while WWE Superstars still have to pay for their rental cars and hotels, Tony Khan's promotion covers the travel bills for its talent.

AEW announces its first simulcast on MAX following historic TV deal

This has been a critical year for All Elite Wrestling, which has been suffering through an attendance and ratings slump amid WWE's hottest era in decades. However, the young promotion managed to secure a historic contract renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Weekly episodes of Dynamite and Collision will begin simulcasting on WBD's MAX streaming service in January. At the Full Gear 2024 pay-per-view, the company announced that the special Fight for the Fallen episode of Dynamite on January 1, 2025, will kick off the new era of simulcasting.

Beginning in January next year, fans will be able to watch AEW's programming on its normal television networks as well as MAX, where they will have access to the promotion's catalog and live events.
