Disappointing update on AEW All Out 2024's ticket sales; set for unfortunate record - Reports

AEW is gearing up for its 2024 All Out pay-per-view in less than twenty-four hours. The show is being held in one of AEW's favorite markets, but the sixth annual All Out is also marking the end of a major All Elite tradition. The weekend is now kicking off with an unfortunate update on ticket sales.

All Out will air live from the Now Arena near Chicago on Saturday. The same venue will host tonight's special go-home editions of Collision and Rampage. All Elite Wrestling was scheduled to continue its Labor Day Weekend tradition with All Out. The date was changed due to the two WWE PLEs booked last weekend, plus the fact that All In would've happened one week earlier.

The Windy City has been one of AEW's top towns. However, just like last year, there are concerns about the Chicago market being over-saturated as just 6,512 tickets had been sold for Saturday's pay-per-view as of earlier this week, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This is close to what WrestleTix reported on August 30 - that 6,511 tickets had been distributed with 1,052 available, on a setup of 7,563 seats.

All Out 2024 most likely will not be sold out, according to The Observer. AEW officials opened up the back rows of several upper-tier sections with eight days to go, but there were only 489 tickets sold in the four days following All In.

This will be the first All Elite pay-per-view in Chicago that won't at least approach a sell-out. It remains to be seen how Wednesday's go-home Dynamite helped ticket sales, if at all, but there are plenty of $30 seats left. The Observer points to how this shows a low demand with cheaper-than-usual prices this close to the event.

The combo tickets for tonight's Collision/Rampage and All Out are sold out. As of this past Tuesday, there were 1,001 tickets left for tonight's tapings, with 60 combo tickets available, and 2,315 distributed tickets on a setup of 3,376. The week prior saw just 401 tickets move.

Tony Khan hypes AEW All Out change

AEW is now billing the rivalry between Adam Page and Swerve Strickland as its most violent ever. They are rumored to headline All Out on Saturday.

The Swerve vs. Hangman Steel Cage Match is now an Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match. Tony Khan explained the change on X:

"AEW can't be held responsible for what happens in Chicago at All Out when Hangman Page fights Swerve Strickland in an unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match, this Saturday!," Tony Khan wrote.

All Out 2024 will mark the fifth singles bout between Page and Strickland. The former Hit Row member won their first three outings last year at WrestleDream and Title Tuesday Dynamite in October, then Full Gear's Texas Death Match the following month. They fought to a thirty-minute time limit draw on Dynamite last February.
