AEW was reportedly set to launch a new show. However, some new details have come to light regarding this development and it may be disappointing to some.

All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 with only one weekly televised show, Dynamite. The company found immediate success and Tony Khan tried to capitalize on this by launching another weekly show called Rampage in 2021. However, Khan wasn't done as he launched Collision last year in June.

Amid this massive growth, the promotion has had a pretty good year thus far and closed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros Discovery. Now, there are rumors that the promotion is looking to launch a new show called AEW Shockwave although very few details are known about it. The company even filed a trademark for the name but has yet to make any official announcement.

During a recent Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether there has been any progress about AEW: Shockwave. Sapp said that he hadn't heard of any developments but discussions were still ongoing between the parties involved.

"I haven’t heard of anything imminent as of yet, but they are still talking about Shockwave with people, and ROH," he said.

AEW Rampage will not be a part of WBD in 2025

Currently, All Elite Wrestling does three weekly shows - Dynamite, Collision, and Rampage. The numbers in terms of viewership and ratings for Collision and Rampage haven't been good in recent months. The company has also been struggling to sell out arenas for their weekly shows. Despite these poor numbers, the promotion was able to renew its media rights deal this year.

All Elite Wrestling recently renewed its deal with WBD, which is valued at $185 million a year. As part of the new arrangement, Dynamite, and Collision will stream on HBO Max with the replays for all the shows getting added to Max.

Max subscribers will also get a discounted rate for PPVs. However, this new deal spells disaster for one show. According to reports, All Elite Wrestling's Rampage will not be a part of WBD programming in 2025.

It will be interesting to see if AEW: Shockwave will replace Rampage in the future.
