AEW presented its Worlds End Pay-Per-View from Orlando, Florida last night. The show had some surprises including a few former WWE Superstars reportedly present backstage. Recent reports have revealed that Baron Corbin and AJ Francis (fka Top Dolla) were backstage at the recent All Elite PPV.

The Lone Wolf was surprisingly released by the WWE recently. Baron Corbin moved to NXT in 2023, introducing a new gimmick which eventually got over with the fans. He was moved to Friday Night Smackdown in the 2024 Draft but was barely used on the blue brand.

According to a recent report by Fightful Select, former WWE Superstars like Baron Corbin and AJ Francis were present backstage at the Worlds End Pay-Per-View. Francis was seen speaking with Tony Khan and his former Hit Row stablemate, Swerve Strickland. Francis' TNA deal is set to expire on January 1st.

Kurt Angle on Baron Corbin's WWE run

Baron Corbin defeated Kurt Angle in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35. However, the promotion never handed him the ball which disappointed The Olympic Gold Medalist.

In a recent edition of Busted Open, Kurt Angle praised Baron Corbin and questioned why the Stamford-based promotion never booked him right after his victory at WrestleMania 35 and becoming King of the Ring later that year. Angle pointed out how being King of the Ring guarantees a World Title opportunity and he was disappointed in the creative for not making Corbin the champion.

"Baron's [Corbin] really talented. I see a lot of potential in him. I was really disappointed with what WWE did with him. I mean, they pushed him at first and they had him beat me at WrestleMania [35] for my retirement match, which is fine. I was okay with that. Afterward, they had him win the King of the Ring Tournament, and he kinda fell off. He fell off the radar. And he never really made it back, at least not to the extent that he should've been. I mean, when you win King of the Ring, you're going to be a future world champion, and that did not happen for Baron. I was really disappointed," Angle said.

The fans will have to wait and see if Baron Corbin returns to the Stamford-based promotion in the future as he has great relations in the company.
