Major wrestling talents continue to ride the waves of a chaotic 2024, with both AEW and WWE landing multiple top free agents. Amid the headlines made by Ricochet and Ethan Page recently, a former tag team in Stamford-based company could be close to signing with Tony Khan's promotion.

The Grizzled Young Veterans made a splash in WWE when they became the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions. James Drake and Zack Gibson would later become known as Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler of The Dyad in NXT. The two returned to the independent circuit in 2023 and made appearances for TNA Wrestling earlier this year.

The Grizzled Young Vets made their AEW debut on the April 27 episode of Collision in Jacksonville, FL. Despite speculation that they had signed with the promotion, the two haven't been seen on All Elite TV since, and Fightful Select has now reported that they still aren't signed.

According to the report, talks are ongoing between AEW and The Grizzled Young Veterans regarding a contract. The Jacksonville-based promotion is said to maintain interest in the tag team, but it's not yet certain that they will sign.

AEW recently signed a former WWE and TNA Wrestling writer

Tony Khan has made several major changes to the personnel in All Elite Wrestling throughout the first half of 2024, and his most recent addition is a former writer and producer for WWE and TNA Wrestling.

Robert Evans has been involved with the wrestling industry since 2001 in both in-ring and creative capacities. The 40-year-old worked behind the scenes for WWE from 2016 to 2019 before joining TNA Wrestling, where he worked as a writer and producer until last month when he was released.

Tony Khan seems to have jumped at the opportunity to add the experienced producer to his own team. Evans began his tenure with the company last week and is expected to be at tonight's Dynamite in Des Moines, IA.
