ECW Legend Taz made his return to AEW on the recent edition of Dynamite. However, a huge update has been provided on whether the veteran is back permanently on commentary.
AEW held the December 25th episode of Dynamite on 34th Street from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, NY. The arena is also known for hosting ECW shows and the legend of the brand himself, Taz made his return to commentary on the show. Unfortunately, a recent report has revealed a disappointing update on his status.
In the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez revealed that Taz only appeared on Dynamite because the arena is close to his house. He also revealed that the veteran can not travel, probably due to his recent surgery:
“Taz is not back. He was there because it’s close to his house, and he can’t travel.” [H/T:WOR]

Taz was ambushed by Christian Cage in a parking in October. The move was done to give the legend some time off for his total knee replacement surgery.
Christian Cage recently made some distasteful comments about AEW veteran Taz
Ever since his heel turn, Christian Cage has not shied from taking things too far while cutting promos on his opponents. He mainly targets fathers and says some of the most controversial stuff in kayfabe about them. Christian's recent target has been HOOK and he has already taken out his father Taz a couple of months ago in AEW.
The former TNT Champion recently cut a controversial promo on HOOK where he wished death on Taz. Christian further expressed how much he needs HOOK by his side:
"And right now, I'm regretting my decision to not take things with Taz a little bit further, because as I survey this arena, it's pretty clear to me nobody cares if Taz is alive. I need you HOOK, and in this very moment, I'm gonna tell it to your face, I wish your father was dead," said Cage.
The fans will have to wait and see if The Cold Hearted Handsome Devil joins Christian Cage's The Patriarchy in All Elite Wrestling.
