Tony Khan is close to losing a popular AEW star to Triple H and WWE, which could be a huge blow. This has been going on for a while.
AEW has many wrestlers from WWE, and some have jumped ship from this side as well. One who is close to leaving the company is Penta. It was revealed a few months ago that he and his brother Rey Fenix’s current contracts would be over by the fall season.
Fightful Select has now reported that Penta’s deal will be finished next week and that he will immediately become a free agent. Given that, WWE and Triple H are expected to show interest; however, there has been no official confirmation.

The report also noted that many independent wrestling companies are looking to book Penta in big matches when he becomes a free agent.
AEW star Rey Fenix sends cryptic message amid WWE rumors
Rey Fenix and his brother Penta are part of the Lucha Bros in AEW, and he recently took to social media to send out a cryptic message.
The two brothers have not been in action for a long time, and it is speculated that it is because of WWE’s interest in them. Fenix took to Twitter to take an apparent shot at Tony Khan and said:
"Disloyal is who disappears when the road is dark; someone forgot me on the dark road, BUT NO YOU! That’s why I will always give you my maximum every night; you have changed my life and the lives of my loved ones."
It will be interesting to see what comes of this and how their deals with WWE will take shape if their interest in them is concrete.
