A recent report provided an update on a 31-year-old star who recently wrestled at the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The star reportedly had interest from WWE and Tony Khan's promotion as well.

The 31-year-old star in question is none other than Stephanie Vaquer. Stephanie is currently signed with the Mexican wrestling promotion CMLL. She garnered attention from wrestling fans after she challenged Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) for the TBS title at Forbidden Door while also putting her NJPW Strong Women's Title on the line.

During the entire match, Vaquer surprisingly got more support from the crowd than Mercedes. Furthermore, fans on the internet and the wrestling fraternity were also quite impressed by the CMLL star. It was recently reported that both the major promotions, WWE and AEW, are also interested in signing her.

Meanwhile, there is an update on the aforementioned report regarding Vaquer. According to a report by Lucha Blog, Stephanie Vaquer is still signed with the Mexican promotion CMLL and "has significant time left on that contract."

Moreover, the report also suggested that the length of Vaquer's contract with CMLL is not expected to matter much, as the Mexican promotion has let go of its stars in the past in case they receive a great offer from the major wrestling promotions in the USA.

Veteran on if the 31-year-old should join AEW or WWE

The veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer shared his thoughts on whether the 31-year-old star should sign with AEW or WWE. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer pointed out the downside of Vaquer going with the Stamford-based promotion:

"Whether it's AEW or WWE, I think that that's happening. For WWE, the negative is — I don't know that her English is good enough. I know she can speak English, but I don't know if it's good enough, and they grade you on that."

Meanwhile, Stephanie Vaquer continues to be a top star in CMLL even after losing her NJPW Strong Women's title to Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door. Only time will tell what the future has in store for the 31-year-old star.
