Hangman Page is one of the most important names in AEW, but after failing to defeat Jon Moxley at Worlds End 2024, many are wondering what's next for the former Elite member. A new update has dropped on Hangman's status in the company and where he might go from here.
Hangman turned heel in 2024, driven by his mad quest for revenge against Swerve Strickland. His derangement and anger led him back to the main event scene late in the year, and he competed in the four-way AEW World Championship match at Worlds End.
Hangman Page couldn't take the title from Moxley, but he got some satisfaction by defeating Orange Cassidy last week on AEW Dynamite. Following that, he got into a brawl with Christopher Daniels on Collision. On a recent Fightful Select Q&A, a fan asked Sean Ross Sapp about the purpose of Page's feud with Daniels and whether the company had any plans for him in 2025.
Sapp indicated that there was a "significant" purpose in mind for Hangman's angle with Christopher Daniels and confirmed that AEW always has plans for Page.

Vince Russo thinks CM Punk has "zero respect" for Hangman Page
Hangman Page's AEW World Championship reign came to an end at the hands of CM Punk in May 2022. Fans enjoyed the championship feud, but behind the scenes, real-life issues were developing between the two.
Hangman stung Punk with an unscripted promo ahead of their title match, and The Straight Edge Superstar fired back with one of his own a couple of months later. The Second City Saint then infamously buried Page during the media scrum following All Out 2022, leading to a backstage brawl with The Young Bucks.
On a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo discussed Seth Rollins' recent promo against Punk and compared it to The Second City Saint's feud with Page. The former WWE head writer speculated that The Straight Edge Superstar had no respect for Hangman:
"First of all, I think with the Page, I think Punk said that Page didn’t smarten him up to some of the stuff that he was gonna say, and I also bet you, though, it was a respect thing. I bet you he had zero respect for Hangman Page, none. Whereas he’s got a little history with Rollins. Rollins is probably smart enough to smarten him up in the back," Russo said.
Punk has taken several veiled shots at Page and AEW since being fired by the company in 2023, but Hangman Page has never addressed the issue. It seems unlikely that fans will ever discover precisely what unfolded between the two men behind the scenes.
