An important update has been revealed about the unfortunate injury of AEW star Eddie Kingston. The Mad King was supposed to feature in the Anarchy in The Arena Match at the Double or Nothing PPV.

Last weekend, Eddie Kingston lost his NJPW Strong Openweight Title to Gabe Kidd in a No Rope Last Man Standing Match at Resurgence. During the match, Kingston suffered a brutal suplex through a table from Gabe Kidd and injured his leg. The injury led to him missing Dynamite and getting pulled from the Double or Nothing PPV.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that Eddie Kingston's leg was broken on the New Japan show in Ontario, Canada, on May 11, which altered the plans for Double or Nothing.

"Eddie Kingston suffered what was believed to have been a broken leg on the 5/11 New Japan show in Ontario, CA. On 5/13, they [AEW] found out the leg was broken and had to change around Dynamite and the main event for AEW Double or Nothing," the report stated.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Former TNT Champion Darby Allin has been named as the replacement for Eddie Kingston for the Anarchy in The Arena Match against Team Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, Nicholas, and Matthew Jackson) at Double or Nothing.

Darby Allin addressed the crowd on AEW Dynamite!

The former champion made a shocking return this past Wednesday on Dynamite. After the show went off the air, Allin, Bryan Danielson, and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) interacted with the crowd.

Darby Allin revealed that he has yet to completely recover from his injuries. However, the former TNT Champion declared that he was willing to defend the company's honor at Double or Nothing.

"What a crazy few months! I thought the worst had happened when I broke my foot. Then I was in New York, and I got hit by a bus. As you can see, I am not a hundred percent; I still got a little bit of a limp; I got a nose brace on; but I am going to Anarchy in The Arena because I want to defend AEW's honor," said Allin. It will be interesting to see how Allin and his teammates fare against an all-conquering force like The Elite.
