Additional context regarding confusion between AEW and another popular promotion has just surfaced. This comes via another case of a wrestler under Tony Khan being pulled out from a show on the independent circuit.
Recently, it was reported that Willie Mack was pulled out from a GCW show that was taking place this weekend. However, both sides had different takes on the matter. GCW believed that Mack was urged not to take up this booking. In contrast, the Jacksonville-based promotion has claimed that they did not do such a thing and did not pull him from the show.
A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has just come out. It was mentioned how Willie Mack called GCW's owner about him pulling out of the show. On AEW's side, Sonjay Dutt denied them pushing him to do so. It was Christopher Daniels who was involved with the situation as Mack reportedly approached him about the booking.
Mack admitted that he did not feel strongly about this due to the ongoing situation between GCW star Effy and Tony Khan. Daniels felt the same and told him not to take it. The promotion now claims that they did not push or pressure Mack to turn down the booking and that there was just miscommunication between both parties.

Why are AEW stars, starting from Ricky Starks, being pulled from GCW shows?
More than a couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Ricky Starks was pulled out from all his future GCW bookings. However, this was only the case for this promotion, as Starks is still available for appearances elsewhere.
This comes due to comments by GCW star Effy toward Tony Khan and his father. The promotion did not take this lightly, and they did not want to let the Absolute One appear on their shows.
Now, it seems that the Willie Mack situation is additional proof that there indeed seems to be a rift between AEW and GCW. It remains to be seen whether this will be resolved soon.
