Britt Baker was recently pulled from AEW programming due to an illness, and as expected, the wrestling world began speculating about her future. However, it has now been made clear that The Doctor is very much under contract with All Elite Wrestling and that her deal wasn't expiring anytime soon.

Baker was scheduled to take on Willow Nightingale at last week's episode of AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday to determine Mariah May's challenger for WrestleDream 2024. However, those plans changed at the last moment after Tony Khan was forced to pull the former Women's Champion from the show due to strep throat.

Considering The Doctor has appeared infrequently in All Elite Wrestling over the last few months, some fans have begun wondering if her contract is due to expire soon. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling has now provided a clarification on the same, mentioning Britt Baker's deal wasn't ending "anytime soon."

Britt Baker on rumors of her backstage behavior in AEW

A few months back, several rumors emerged that painted a less-than-flattering picture of Britt Baker's backstage conduct in AEW.

However, in a recent interview, Baker quashed those, saying it broke her heart to read such painful stories. She also reiterated that she was focused on elevating the company's women's roster.

"There are so many things. It feels sometimes on a weekly basis where I’m accused of something I said or did or didn’t do. It’s heartbreaking because, at the end of the day, I love pro wrestling and AEW’s women’s division. I’ve never ever in my life nor would I ever do anything to sabotage it."

With AEW's women's roster gaining momentum since the beginning of 2024, viewers are eagerly waiting for Baker to come back and become a regular fixture on TV. A potential match against Mariah May for the AEW Women's Championship would be worthy of headlining any event if it were to materialize down the line.
