A new round of contract expirations seems to be looming for AEW, as the likes of Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are reportedly due to hit free agency soon. In addition, a new report has revealed that former WWE Superstar, Saraya could also hit the open market as early as next month.
Saraya signed with All Elite Wrestling in September 2022. She won the AEW Women's World Championship at last year's All In pay-per-view, but after an up-and-down 2024, she's struggling to find a place on the card at Wembley this Sunday.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Saraya's current contract lasts until September at least, but she could be a free agent after that. The report noted that there were option years included in the deal and the two sides were currently in discussion about extending the contract for another year. Whether that involves one of the option years or a new deal entirely is unclear.
Saraya has a lot to worry about, even without her contract expiring soon. The 32-year-old is set to face Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at Dynamite this Wednesday. If she wins, she will go on to defend the title against Mariah May at All In. If she loses, she may not be able to compete at Wembley this year at all.
AEW's Saraya recently said goodbye to a beloved pet
Saraya suffered an unfortunate loss this week, as her pet parrot, Sunny passed away. The British star was extremely fond of the bird, and she took to Instagram earlier today to announce that he had died.
Saraya posted several pictures of herself with Sunny in remembrance of the time they spent together.

Several wrestling stars commented on the post to offer their condolences, including WWE's Natalya, Zelina Vega, and Alexa Bliss. It's certainly been a rough week for The Anti-Diva, but whether this loss affects her preparations for Dynamite and All In remains to be seen.
