Malakai Black is one of the top stars in AEW. However, there has been reports of him potentially leaving All Elite Wrestling. The recent reports have also unveiled whether The House of Black leader is headed back to WWE.
A couple of months ago, Malakai Black lost to Adam Cole on an episode of AEW Dynamite. He left the arena with a standing ovation and a thank you from Adam Cole, leading many to believe that he might be on his way out of Tony Khan's promotion. However, Black denied those speculations. Meanwhile, some recent reports have revealed that the former Aleister Black is leaving or could already be gone from All Elite Wrestling.
According to a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, It is currently believed that Malakai Black has departed All Elite Wrestling but there has been no confirmation or denial regarding his departure. It was also reported that there have been some talks about Malakai Black in WWE creative.
"There has been a lot of talk in the past two days about Malakai Black. The word backstage was that he was gone, although in trying to confirm it, nobody would say anything. It’s been reported elsewhere, and one person close to the situation said they were confirming it to us but when we asked officially there was neither a confirmation nor a denial. Nobody expects him back. There was also talk from WWE that he was expected there when his contract expires. That’s been the case for a while, but evidently there has been talk in WWE creative about him of late," - WON

Malakai Black signed with AEW after getting released from WWE in 2021
In 2021, WWE began to air promos for Aleister Black's return to SmackDown. He was being promoted as The Dark Father, a potential super natural gimmick which could have been huge as Black has shown what he's capable of to wrestling fans. Black made his return to SmackDown and was seemingly set for a feud against Big E.
However, on June 2, 2021, Aleister Black got released by WWE. He changed his name to Malakai Black and made his AEW debut, attacking Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson. The veteran has had a great career in the Jacksonville-based promotion and is a former AEW World Trios Champion.
We will have to wait and see if Malakai Black returns to WWE after his All Elite Wrestling contract expires.
