A new report has shed light on a major update regarding the booking of a popular AEW star amid rumors of him potentially signing with WWE. The name in question is Rey Fenix.
After making a huge name on the independent wrestling scene, Fenix joined All Elite Wrestling in 2019. He became popular with fans due to his in-ring ability. He won several titles in the Tony Khan-led promotion, including the International, the World Tag Team, and the World Trios Championships.
However, Rey Fenix, his brother and tag partner Penta El Zero Miedo, known together as the Lucha Bros, are heavily rumored to join WWE after their AEW contracts expire between August and September 2024.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Fenix has reportedly withdrawn from an indie booking for September this year, which could be the same time his All Elite Wrestling contract is expected to expire.

Tommy Dreamer compared AEW's Rey Fenix to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio
During a June 2024 episode of Busted Open After Dark, Tommy Dreamer said he was happy to see Rey Fenix back inside the squared circle.
Dreamer also mentioned that he thought Fenix would be up there with WWE legend Rey Mysterio but the former has had bad luck with injuries.
"I'm so happy to have him back," Dreamer said. "I mean, he's one of these guys that I really thought would be up there like a Rey Mysterio. He has such a unique...he's so good. Him and his brother I'm such big fans of. But the guy's been hurt a bunch of times, and I hope his health continues, cause you get to see how unique he is and how good he is."
Many fans believe Rey Fenix could become the next big Luchador after Rey Mysterio in World Wrestling Entertainment. It will be interesting to see if the Triple H-led promotion will sign the AEW star in the future.
